WELBURN CIRCULAR - OS 300
All walks begin in Welburn Village
Middle Walk - 8.5 miles
Walk west through Welburn to a path on the right at 717681. Take the path and head north past Moor Houses 716691to a junction of paths at 716694. Turn right and head east to meet the Centenary Way at 722693. Head north over the New River Bridge to a fork in the path at 724703. Take the left fork to Coneysthorpe. On reaching the road head east to meet a path on the left at 723715 called Appleton Lane. Follow this through the wood to a junction of paths at 726723. Take the path SE which skirts the edge of the woods heading to Park House 733715. Cross the road and take the path opposite which zig zags down to Spring Wood. At 734712 head SW to Bog Hall 725709. From there pick up the Centenary Way and head SE past Low Gaterley then west past Lowdy Hill Gill and Lowdy Wood to 722692. Go SW then SE past East Moor Banks, south past Todd Wood and then SW back into Welburn.
Long Walk - 11.2 miles
Walk west through Welburn to a path on the right at 717681. Take the path and head north past Moor Houses 716691to a junction of paths at 716694. Turn right and head east to meet the Centenary Way at 722693. Head north over the New River Bride to a fork in the path at 724703. Take the left fork to Coneysthorpe and continue north to Coneysthorpe Banks Wood 710726. Head NE through the wood to pick up a path which skirts the edge of the wood heading SE. Turn left at a junction of paths at 727723 and head NE on Appleton Lane to Appleton Le Street. Just before hitting the main road head back SE to meet Amotherby Lane at 742718. Continue south crossing the road junction to Thackadale Lane. Carry on south past High Gaterley to Hutton Hill 738682. Turn right and then follow the path through Tod Wood and back into Welburn.
