Middle Walk 7.4 miles

From Lythe, NZ 847131, follow road ENE, passing Fire Station, on narrow pavement FP on left side of A174 to reach 849131. NNW on clear track to meet woods at 847139, where follow track as it winds through woods to reach Overdale Farm 847142. Briefly N to FPs junction at 847143. WNW on FP to meet lane at Spot 127 and 840144. Briefly N on lane to 841145, where take a track NNE to meet Cleveland Way (CW) at 842149.*  (From here, as Long Walk.)

Long Walk 10.4 miles

From Ellerby, NZ 799146, SE to cross A174 at 801144. ESE across fields to meet a lane at 806143. N on Coverdale Lane to meet disused railway, near Low House, at 807151. Follow disused railway track bed SE/E/N/NE, to reach Spot 103 near Kettleness Mines (disused). Leave track through 2 gates N to join Cleveland Way (CW) at 821153. Follow CW E/NE, passing Kettleness Farm 829157, to reach 836159. S/SE on CW to reach a FPs junction at 842149.* 

(Here, the Middle Walk joins.) SE/S on CW to reach 860130, where descend steps to a seaside CP and meet A174 at 861129. Follow CW on left pavement of A174 SE to Sandsend, where it bends SW/SE/NE to cross FB over stream. Continue SE on left Pavement of A174 on CW to 879117. Here, leave A174, turning left, NE, on signed lane to meet start of prom at 882120. E/SE on prom to eventually reach memorial garden at 897115. Pass through Whale Bone Arch to take steps down to road at 898115. Cross road and take short cut SE on lane at 898115 to reach minor road, CW, that heads S close to River Esk. S to roundabout at 890109. Continue SSE/S on CW to reach Coach CP at 900105.
